Burns Hurt: Learn Not to Burn

The Saskatchewan Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund has embarked on a burn education awareness campaign to help remind residents to learn not to burn with the launch of 32 awareness billboards across Saskatchewan.

The Burn Fund teamed up with Pattison and Tailwind Studios to come up with a unique concept which used shock value through the use of a graphic image of a burn survivor being treated to help retain the educational message.

“Many burn incidents can be prevented with common sense such as testing the water temperature before putting a child in the bath or staying in the kitchen while cooking,” said Gerry Huget, President of the SPFFA Burn Fund.  “Our goal in the billboard campaign is to remind Saskatchewan residents that being burned hurts and that Fire Fighters want you to stay alert to help prevent you from being injured.”

The billboards are currently located in Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Prince Albert, North Battleford, and Weyburn.
